Open Source Software links
- iText - is a PDF library that allows you to generate PDF files on the fly. The iText website provides further information about the capabilities of the iText library. There is a really interesting interview with Bruno Lowagie, 'father' of iText on Javalobby.
- Aipdf - is Java-based software used for displaying PDF forms. The user can fill forms and save them back to disk.
- Jarnal is an open-source application for notetaking, sketching, annotating a document - including pdf - or collaborating using a stylus, mouse or keyboard.
- EyeOS - is an open source, Web Operating system. The open source version of JPedal is used as their pdf viewer.
- PDF Annot - is an interesting piece of software that enables you to add audio and text annotation to a PDF. It uses JPedal SimpleViewer and the iText library. This software is written by a pair of French students as part of their Master's project. The site is in French, but you can download from the "Liens" choice on their menu.
- PDF Forms Designer - is a tool for manipulating PDF forms. It's a 100% Java, client-side application that allows users to graphically add, through a drag and drop mechanism, form fields, free text and images to new, and existing PDF documents.
